Gorgeous SCENTS For Your Garden

Mmmm! We all love the look of a beautiful, blooming yard, but the scent of flowers open in all their glory is an important part of loving your garden, too. The right fragrance relaxes or invigorates, sets a mood and makes your home - and yard - a happier place.

Here are seven great, fab-scented flowers to plant if your nose knows what it wants in the garden:

1. Wisteria

Wisteria has an almost sweet-pea scent, and because it has large clusters of blooms, the fragrance is concentrated and will carry. Wisteria is also gorgeous, making it the perfect combination for your yard.

2. Daphnes

These have a lemony fragrance. They're perfect for walkways so guests entering your house can enjoy the lovely scent on their way in, and you can breathe it in playing outdoors with your children, pets or just sitting with a book on a warm summer day.

3. Lily of the Valley

This plant isn't very large, but it packs a huge scent. Lily of the Valley makes a pretty ground cover or border for your garden.

4. Chaste Tree

If you love a more earthy scent, Chaste Tree is sage-like. It is actually a shrub and makes a lovely lawn border.

5. Lavender

Everyone knows lavender is famed for its characteristic, soothing scent. Lavender is said to produce a sense of calm and the flowers can be pinched off and added to the bath or in a potpourri around your house.

6. Frangipani

This warm-locale flower gives off its fragrance at night. It's perfect for summer evenings on the porch. Sit back, listen to the crickets, inhale the scent and enjoy!

7. Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea gives a reminiscent-style fragrance. It will remind you of childhood (yours or your own children's). It is also associated with romance and was a frequent addition to bridal bouquets in Medieval times.

Breathe in your gorgeous garden and enjoy!
